Film Hackathon is an intensive filmmaking internship programme designed for emerging filmmakers who want hands-on, real-world experience rather than academic theory. Across 24 two-hour masterclasses and feature-film participation, participants develop practical skills, professional discipline, and a cinematic eye rooted in independent film practice that provides real, on-set film experience and industry credits through, significantly improving employability where traditional education routes fall short.
We have ten free placements for young people from disadvantaged backgrounds from East London*, as well as subisidised and full paying placements open to all. Please submit your expression of interest form after reading our current programme and terms.
Submit your form and if short listed you will be invited for an interview. You must be ready for the term dates as below. If applying for subsidies, you must have your evidence ready, as per the form and agreement. If successful you will go onto stage 2.
You will undergo masterclasses and training led by industry professionals, preparaing you for your film internship.
There are 24-sessions. Each session is 2 hours, with two sessions per day, run over two days a week!.
Work on a feature film with pre-allocated roles, lasting upto 30 day at around 8hrs per day, 5 days a week.. You must be available for the whole duration! Once the film is completed you will receive film credit, listed on the film's IMDB, issued a completion certificate and invited to the film premiere and after-party!
This programme is designed for aspiring and emerging filmmakers who are serious about working in the film and screen industries. It is particularly suited to:
• Aspiring directors, writers, producers, cinematographers, editors, and crew members • Creatives seeking practical on-set experience rather than academic film theory • Individuals from underrepresented or non-traditional backgrounds entering the industry • Artists, performers, and content creators transitioning into narrative filmmaking • Anyone committed to collaboration, discipline, and hands-on learning
By the end of the programme, participants will leave with tangible skills, experience, and professional confidence, including:
• A clear understanding of the complete filmmaking process from idea to distribution • Practical experience across multiple film departments • A portfolio of work suitable for showreels and applications • Industry-standard workflows and professional set etiquette • Greater confidence collaborating with cast and crew • Career clarity and guidance for next steps into the industry

The feature film offering the internship is 'A Good Soldier' a gritty, ransom, action-drama with UK talent.
Munsur is the founder of 'Film Hackathon,' a project he feels passionately about as a film maker, studio owner and someone who has been active in the cultural sector for over twenty years. He is an elected member at the historic City of London Corporation, board member of the Barbican and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.
Richard is a writer and film maker, as well as the Head of Operations for the Limelight Film Awards. he has headed on film tarining programmes in London with topics and films made on social topics.
Shahnaab is an acclaimed independent movie producer. From journalist to producer, he is best known for his works in Yash Raj Films’ Dhoom, Dhoom 2 and Kaabul Express. He was the Commissioning Producer and produced 6 films including The Lunchbox. His movies have been selected at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival.
